French Rococo Louis XV Style Giltwood Mirror & Console W/ Black & White Marble

About the Item

A very lovely French rococo-style giltwood mirror & console. The console is a period Louis XV rococo piece (circa late 1700's) adorned with rocaille, acanthus & floral carvings that include scallop shells & daisies, with cabriole legs & serpentine front. The mirror, which is also French (circa 1860), features a carved bonnet with scallop shell, acanthus & roses and offers a beveled glass. Both are hand-carved & gilded and work very well together. The beautiful black & white marble top is a more recent addition but is appropriate. Note: Console affixes to the wall; mirror may hang independently or rest on console.
