About the Item
Extraordinary pair of 19th century French Louis XVI style parcel-gilt and painted narrow consoles and mirrors.
The arched plates with flowerhead cresting and swags within stiff leaf borders, the tables of demilune outline with bréche violette marble tops above a Vitruvian scroll decorated frieze and floral swags below, raised on shaped legs ending in paw feet.
The bréche violette marble is extracted from the town of Serravezza, near to the Carrara region in Italy. This marble is often used by top cabinetmakers such as Francois Linke.
