About the Item
Charming gilt Biedermeier wall mirror from the period around 1840 in Austria. Standing out with its lovely floral stucco work, silver plated half rods (abraded) and rounded corners, this frame was restored by our experts while taking greatest care to keep the charme of a past period as best as we can. We also kept the gorgeous patina and sealed it with a light shellac coating. This just looks perfect alongside the different kinds of gilt techniques (composition gold/ bronzed) that were used for this amazing masterpiece. Even the original mirror glass with a very special facet cut is there, showing some scratches and aging spots.
The backside of the mirror was closed with wooden boards and two hand forged wall mounting possibilities makes this mirror useable either in vertical or horizontal format.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. The original mirror glass shows some light scratches and aging spots - but these little spots are almost on the sides and doesn´t affect the mirror in its functionality - on the contrary, it lends it additional charm!
