Italian Empire Large Precisely Incised Gilt Gesso Wall Mirror Early 19th Century
About the Item
Of rectangular form, gold leaf over gouache, slightly convex with a molded outer edge and a very detailed incised crossed diagonal pattern with punch-work in between the created lozenges. These intricate details were all created by a craftsman’s hand and took timeless hours of focused work, first quarter of the 19th century.
