Large Handcrafted Oak Furrow Shelf Mirror
About the Item
Large handcrafted ‘furrow’ oak framed mirror with shelf. Designed by SUM furniture and handcrafted in finest fully quartersawn English oak. Hand finished in natural oils. The furrow mirror creates a striking presence and gives the illusion of it having once been folded. This works perfectly with our handmade oak console/vanity tables or used as an entry/hallway piece.
Other sizes are available upon request.
We design bold and distinctive pieces of furniture – our main objective is combining the design alongside the natural beauty and properties of the raw materials.
These timbers and materials are very carefully chosen for each specific design - maintaining our focus on the benefits, visual impact and strengths of what we use.
Our regular use of English Quartersawn Oak is one case in point. It has been the beloved timber of fine furniture makers across the world for centuries. It is costly to produce but gives huge benefits and rewards such as its striking medullary rays and superb stability qualities.
By utilising these wonderful and naturally occurring features with our contemporary designs we aim to continue creating some very distinct, tactile and idiosyncratic pieces.
These are all completely handmade, in very small numbers, by our skilled craftspeople in England.
