2 Rare Italian Mid-Century Modern Mirrors, Attr. to Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte
About the Item
2 Important Italian, Mid-Century Modern mirrors in a rare sculptural, canted form attributed to Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte, 1950. The mirror frame is constructed of a black enameled metal band fabricated in an long semi-oval form. Deeply inset into the frame is an long octagonal cut mirror which floats in the frame. The mirror is secured by two pieces of solid brass. The composition is striking in it's long narrow profile, juxtaposition of forms and startling depth perception. The pieces are Priced and Sold Individually.
Max Ingrand was the premiere designer of light objects and mirrors in Italy durning the Midcentury period. His designs are ethereal in their originality, forms, materials, and luminescent presence.
