Antique Aesthetic Movement Faux Bamboo & Bird's-Eye Maple Full / ¾ Bed - c. 1880s An exceptional example of late 19th-century American Chinoiserie. This bed frame dates from the height of the Aesthetic Movement (circa 1880-1900) Masterfully crafted to mimic natural bamboo, it features highly figured, premium bird's-eye maple panels paired with solid, hand-turned hardwood columns and is capped with original lathe-turned wooden finials. The authentic iron bed-bolt joinery assures an incredibly sturdy assembly. Includes 4 drop-in wooden support slats. Dimensions: Built for a traditional Antique Full / Three-Quarter (3/4) mattress. Interior mattress cavity accommodates a 54.5" W x 72.5" L mattress. (modern custom foam/hybrid 54×72”) Excellent antique condition with a warm honey patina. Minor cosmetic wear consistent with its 140+ year age, including light surface scuffs and a small, completely stable hairline age crack on the lower collar of one headboard finial. Structural integrity is superb, completely stable, and ready for immediate use.
