English Victorian Papier Mache Mother of Pearl Inlay Twin Bed Frames - a Pair
About the Item
Remarkable pair of antique, 19th C, hand painted and mother of pearl inlaid signed single beds. This breathtaking pair features wrought iron paint decorated frames, brass cannon ball finials, and hand painted and detailed oil paint on wood headboards depicting colorful floral drapery and outstanding scenes. One headboard features the world famous Gothic-style Roman Catholic cathedral in Burgos, Spain. It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is famous for its vast size and unique architecture. The second headboard features a cluse countryside and features a mother of pearl inlaid bridge and vast mountainous countryside. Beds are believed to be of French origin. Circa Late 19th Century. Measurements: 57.5" H x 42.5" W x 80" D.
