The pinnacle of over a century of bed-making expertise, requiring at least 120 hours of handcrafting, the Nº1 is the ultimate in luxury. Its foundation is a box spring base, crafted from the finest materials for optimum support - curled horse tail hair, deep hourglass springs and a beech frame with dovetail joints. The Nº1 mattress is deep and sumptuous, with tall springs and lavish layers of natural fillings. It combines perfect zoned support with the ultimate softness and can be completed tailored to you. Finished with a HCa topper, the ultimate comfort layer with generous layers of horse tail, cashmere and wool, it elevates your legs, giving you the feeling of floating, weightlessness.
Every element of Savoir Nº1 bed is constructed and perfected by a single craftsperson in our London Bedworks. When every detail is complete, they sign the label, as an artist signs their work.

As sure as day follows night, how we sleep informs how we live. Savoir has spent over a century perfecting the art of comfort, interweaving craft, creativity, and nature. Over that time, Savoir have mastered time-honoured techniques and made leaps of innovation. The result is a collection of beds made to an extraordinary standard of luxury. The Savoir story began in 1905 when impresario Richard D’Oyly Carte required a bed luxurious enough to qualify for the rooms of his newly opened Savoy Hotel in London. Not finding any that were up to his exacting standards, he chose to create his own. The result is still made today, and the spirit of its creation continues to govern Savoir’s approach to every bed it creates. The skilled craftsmen work intently at individual oak trestles at Savoir Bedworks in West London and Wales, hand-making beds from inception to completion. Savoir’s mission is to provide every customer with the most comfortable and stylish bed imaginable. From the required support to the style of the home, dimensions, materials and fabrics can all be personalised.
