Incredibly stylish pair of metal bedside cabinets with marble tops and porcelain wheels. When we first saw these remarkable bedside cabinets, we were only standing 5 feet away from them and we thought that they were actually made of wood. The hand painted faux wooden pattern is so good both grain and color-wise that even with our 25+ years of experience we took them for wooden cabinet. You can imagine our surprise when we opened the door and felt the weight and heard the sound of metal on metal. This was a very pleasant surprise also, because it meant the quality of the hand painted pattern was very good and these metal cabinets are much rarer and desirable than wooden cabinets. The stunning, solid brass, Industrial style corner brackets and the original white porcelain casters/wheels make these stands even more stylish. In their day these cabinets of great design would also have been very avantgardistic and only people of a certain class and with a very modern taste would have purchased them. These very well executed antique cabinets stand as strong and stabile as the day they were handcrafted. Apart from being the perfect bedside cabinets these also make great display stands in a gallery setting.
