About the Item
The BUGS collection is a vivid example of emotional design: something very earthly and cosmic at the same time, both innovative and primal. This emotion is born somewhere inside our wrapper of civilization.
The author, designer Valery Kuznetsov, sees in these cute creatures images of insects who indeed can be inhabitants of other planets. Alien bugs with rounded corners on their legs-antennae can creep across your interior in the form of fancy chests of drawers of different shapes and sizes, as well as decorative wall panels.
The facades of chests of drawers are decorated manually by the technique of graphic drawings, which only enhances the emotion.
Nature always arouses curiosity: here, pyrography as one of the oldest techniques of applying images on wood by burning appears on the facades as drawings, which are similar to the patterns on the backs of insects.
So the craft, which had experienced its rise as a form of art several times in its history, has now moved into the field of design, while it is retaining the taste of spontaneity.
The same spontaneity is a distinctive feature not only of decorative details but also of the shapes of collection items, which exist in different configurations and options.
This nightstand is probably the most fragile item in the BUGS collection. Due to its nice image, it moves you to put it in your house. But the nightstand is not deprived of functionality, it provides a place inside for things.
