About the Item

Cleverly using pine and maple to simulate the oriental look all the rage in Europe during the 19th century, the artisans who created this 19th century French faux bamboo bedroom suite cleverly used the maple to create the illusion of bamboo. Consisting of an armoire, day bed, nightstand and commode, the set instantly furnished your room requiring only a chair or two and some art on the four walls, and voila~ you're done! Each piece sold separately, so if you want the set, act fast! The armoire features a full length mirror provides a lovely reflection of you room and is great for dressing, and the door opens wide for spacious storage, with a full-width drawer below as an added bonus! The bed was designed to be used as a sofa during the day and a bed by night, it is finished on all four sides making it a good choice for the center of the room, as well! (Can fit "twin" mattress set or, a custom mattress can be made, which is surprisingly affordable!) The nightstand was designed to be used at the bedside, but such pieces are now more commonly used next to chairs for a small seating group, made especially more appealing with the original marble top. The dresser, although it was designed to be used with this bedroom set, is exceedingly versatile, and can be used in any room of the home or office. Original Cararra marble top ensures carefree elegance. These antique furniture has been cleaned and waxed by Inessa Stewart's Antiques staff, ready for shipping and delivery. Circa 1880s.
