Seated Nude Male Bookends with Fine Bas Relief Detail

About the Item

Rare and very fine, this set of bronze-toned bookends feature a nude male figure in repose, his arms resting on one knee, in a Renaissance setting topped with an arched cornice and pilasters to either side. The relief is very beautiful, and the figure is both powerful and pensive. These are the only examples of this bookend that we have ever seen.
