Mid-19th Century French Gun Powder Flask, circa 1856

About A Mid-19th Century English gun powder flask wrapped in leather with silver spout and monogrammed silver plaque "ALAN". The spout has a lever that opens the interior to pour the gun powder out and has "Dixon & Sons 1856" written on it. "James Dixon & Sons Sheffield" is stamped on the top. Creator James Dixon & Sons Sheffield. Date of manufacture circa 1856. Materials and techniques silver plate, leather. Condition good. Wear consistent with age and use. Dimensions Large: H 8 in. W 3.5 in. D 2.25 in. History Unknown.
