Vintage oak airplane middle section propeller hub
This vintage aviation piece is available for sale as a decorative item for the home or garden.
The hub is the middle part of a propeller, and the way it has been made suggests the propeller section is approximately 100 years old.
Ten pieces of Oak were laminated or stuck together, and carpenters carved the propeller out of the now solid Oak structure. The practice of laminating wood was to ensure strength and minimise the chances of the wood splitting.
