Pair of United States Military A-7 Corsairs Model Aircrafts, circa 1970

About

An unusual pair of painted aluminium and wood military models of the LTV ( Ling-Temco-Vought) A-7 Corsair II. One in United States Navy (USN) livery and one in United States Air Force camouflage livery. Made by a celebrated Dutch model maker, Maarten Matthijs Verkuyl, a specialist model maker that had contracts with aircraft manufacturers and airlines. Fabulous quality painted cast aluminium military naval and airforce model aircraft with painted wooden ordinance and on original wooden stands. Dimensions: (length) 61 cm/24 inches x (wing span) 51 cm/20 inches x (max height on Stand) 33 cm/13 inches. The LTV A-7 Corsair II is an American carrier-capable subsonic attack aircraft manufactured to replace the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk. The Corsair II initially entered service with the US Navy during the Vietnam War and began combat operations over Vietnam in December 1967. It was later adopted by the US Air Force, including the Air National Guard, to replace the Douglas A-1 Skyraider and North American F-100 Super Sabre.
