The wonderful staged surrealism of Arthur Tress’s black and white photographs, bordered in white on a black page, are set opposite the words of novelist John Minahan, guiding us through the images, dreams and encounters that inform each page. Shot amidst the urban decay of the early 1970s, each photograph shows a world both real and dreamlike as childhood imaginary moments are acted out in games and posed compositions. An important early 1970s photo-book.
Hardback in publisher’s original dust jacket, text in English, unpaginated, heavily illustrated in black and white throughout.
