Eames Design: The Work of the Office of Charles and Ray Eames - Neuhart - 1994

About the Item

First edition, third printing, published by Harry N. Abrams, 1994. Text by John & Marilyn Neuhart and Ray Eames. From a partnership that started with modest beginnings exploring the uses of heat-formed plywood for furniture and medical apparatus, Charles and Ray Eames built a 20th century design empire second to none. This all-encompassing history of the Eames and their design office details the many creative aspects of the phenomenon, from the explorations in furniture, textiles and architecture, to the playful forays into film making, museum and exhibition curation, the multi-media partnerships with IBM and even toy design. Hardback, around 450 pages, extremely extensively illustrated with 3,504 illustrations, including 2,107 plates in full colour and 2 gatefolds. A very good copy
