About the Item
This lavish book is an exposition of the innovative Japanese graphic artist and costume designer who was known for her work on stage, screen, advertising and print media. Most famous probably were her advertising campaigns for the Japanese Boutique chain "Parco," though in 2002 she did design outfits for various nations for the Winter Olympics and in 2008 she was the director of costume design for the opening ceremony at the Beijing Olympic Games. She won an "Oscar" for best costume design in 1992 and was nominated on one other occasion. Her last major advertising Campaign was for Parco and involved Faye Dunnaway as the face of the company. 265 pages profusely illustrated throughout.
