Situated on the Brow of a commanding hill, Lypiatt Park, Gloucestershire, the historic manor house and grounds purchased by Lynn Chadwick in 1958, has had a distinguished history. During its long life, it has seen periods of great activity and long periods of neglect. The setting is dramatic, and geographic formations indicate that it may have been inhabited as early as prehistoric times. Chadwick made this enchanted site both his home and his studio, and it served as a stimulating backdrop for his work.
