Pompei, Past and Present by P. Beccarini. Milan: Tip Pirsla and Cella di Cella, 1906. First Edition paded hardcover with no dust jacket as issued. 110 pp. A fascinating antique book that visually compares photographs of Pompei excavations with realistic drawings showing how extraordinary the locations looked when they were built. The renderings were done by Luigi Fischetti the Professor of Architecture and Decorative Art at the Royal Naples University and he was the Special Artist of the Pompei Excavation. Great antique book in remarkable condition. Most available copies are re-prints.
