Carved Whale Bone Wrapped in Sterling Silver Pendant Frame
About the Item
Intricate carving of a green-eyed man entwined with a snake. The snake eyes are rubies. The back of the piece feature carvings of leaves, representational of the fall harvest.
The Green man is believed to symbolize the cycle of life, death and re-birth. The symbol of godhood within the male and its relationship with the transcendent life force our goddess, the female expression of divinity. He is a Pagan symbol who heralds spring after a long winter and the renewal of lush vegetation. Signed and stamped 925
A wonderful piece, could be worn or hung from a knob. Very well done. The surrounding sterling sheath is made custom to the piece and has a substantial hanging disc.
