About

A 1950s lustrous large Brazilian specimen amethyst gem from the famed very sought after Minas Gerais (now closed mine) the finest Brazilian amethyst mine. This is a Gorgeous, large A grade specimen amethyst geode from Brazil. It is filled with shining deep purple crystals. The edge of the geode has been polished to show off the beautiful crystals and matrix. This is a fine grade amethyst, there's rarely a comparison on the market in this perfect large wide open shape. A natural geode of this open size and quality is rare and unusual, it would take pride of place in any collection. A great lasting conversation piece can be beautifully displayed laid flat on a table or up on a stand. It weighs approx. 63 lbs. a very large 22" x 20" it is 3" thick as a fine specimen should be the matrix is thin, making it more pure amethyst crystals .(projected bottom area is 5" thick). Of all the specimens examined, the amethyst geode is found to be the most captivating and beautiful. Each one, uniquely shaped by nature, their shells lined with thousands of purple amethyst crystals. Only one place on earth were the highest quality amethyst mineral specimen geodes found-in Brazil, where this one if from. These wonders that have taken nature millions of years to create, started out as a gas bubble from a Magmatic flow. In the following epoch, ground water would slowly permeate the cavity, depositing its dissolved mineral deposits, slow enough for the dissolved minerals to assemble into their unique crystal form. In the case of the Rio Grande do sol region of Brazil, the circumstances of that environment were very special because of the silicon and iron/manganese minerals present. The geode cavities were to be filled with the amethyst crystal, possessing a deep, beautiful purple tone. Perhaps nowhere on earth is a more beautiful geode created. A crystal is a mineral that has formed into a geometric pattern. All crystals vibrate at their own frequency, and some people are sensitive enough to feel these vibrations. Sometimes a quartz crystal may give off rapid pulses of energy. During the middle ages, the amethyst's beauty and rarity made it more valuable than diamonds, often worn in rings of kings and queens. Amethyst was traditionally believed to protect the bearer from intoxication and excess physical passion. In ancient Rome, a gift of amethyst from wives to their husbands would guarantee his love and fidelity. Today, amethyst crystals and geodes are considered to have power to stimulate people into being more creative and mentally alert. An amethyst crystal could ensure your working environment with stimulations, creativity, and stress relief. Mental or spiritual growth: Amethyst is an excellent crystal for people who meditate, as it indulges a state of tranquillity and calmness. Amethyst may assist in changing addictive behavior and negativity while making goals and dreams clearer and more realistic. Amethyst is used in chronotherapy healing to recover the human being's physical, emotional, and mental equilibrium. Birthstone: February.
