19th Century Chinese Lacquer Giltwood Board Chess Set

This exceptional 19th century Cantonese chess set features thirty-two intricately carved bone figural chess pieces complete with a fine period Chinese decorated giltwood lacquered hinged folding game board. One opposing side is natural color the other stained cochineal red. The five inch tall Kings or Emperors are complete with human hair quaes, which is very unusual indeed. The carving detail is incredible. Very good condition with all pieces intact.
