Enameled copper chessboard with dark walnut frame and felted back by Italian painter and master enamelist Paolo De Poli. Beautifully orchestrated colors in variegated purple and peach enamel with iridescent flecks of gold. In excellent original condition, with a "Smalti de Poli" paper label, and a label from Gump's, the renowned San Francisco design emporium. Made circa 1960s.
