About the Item

1970s German Souvenir Set – Munich Olympic TV Tower Spoon & Stuttgart TV Tower Pen A charming pair of mid-20th-century German souvenirs dating to the 1970s, evocative of the era’s fascination with modern architecture and design. This set includes: Munich Souvenir Spoon, featuring the Olympic TV Tower, produced around the time of the 1972 Munich Olympic Games. The piece shows gentle signs of age and use, with a natural vintage patina that enhances its authenticity. Stuttgart TV Tower Souvenir Pen, a classic mid-century keepsake inspired by the renowned Stuttgart Fernsehturm. The pen shows light wear from age and is no longer functional (dried ink), but remains an appealing collectible display object. Collected during a 1970s trip in Germany, both pieces reflect the optimism and architectural achievements of postwar Europe. Found at an Estate Sale in Nuremberg Germany. Condition: Spoon: Used vintage condition, light patina. Pen: Used, dry ink, not in working condition. Size listed in the dimensions section refers to the TV Tower motif. A delightful addition for collectors of vintage travel memorabilia, mid-century design, or Olympic history.

By Anton Michelsen
Located in Downingtown, PA
Anton Michelsen Gilded Sterling Silver Gilt Christmas Spoon, Artist Poul Hanmann Designer, 1977 The 1977 Anton Michelsen Christmas Spoon is gilded sterling silver with an enamel handle. It was designed the artist Poul Hanmann. The shaped handle depicts a red enamel rose growing up in the blue sky from a snow covered ground. The artist chose this design as a familiar Christmas design in Denmark. Dimensions: 6 1/2 inches long x 1 1/2 inches wide x 3/4 inches high. Poul Frederik Hanmann was a Danish painter born on September 20, 1915, in Copenhagen. He studied at P. Rostrup Bøyesen's painting school from 1945 to 1950, which greatly influenced his artistic style. Hanmann was known for his figure paintings, particularly of female nude models, which he depicted with a balanced and simplified composition. Over time, his work became more abstract, with fewer details, creating an ethereal quality in his paintings. He was part of a group of 1950s painters, including Jeppe Vontilius and Johannes Hofmeister...
