John Marin by John Marin. Holt, Rinehart & Winston, New York, 1970. 1st Ed hardcover with dust jacket. A look at this important American artist. Edited by Cleve Gray. Includes numerous black and white illustrations. 175 pages 119 illustrations with 20 in color. John Marin was recognized as American's foremost watercolorist. Most of these paintings and drawings have never been published before. The foreward urges and the reproductions demonstrate, that John Marin "did not simply paint a picturesque corner of his New England world. He painted elemental forces, he painted the movement of the earth."
