1960s Dieter Rams CSV 60/1 Amplifier for Braun, Germany

About

A rare vintage CSV 60/1 tube amplifier designed by Dieter Rams, manufactured by Braun in Germany around 1960. Made of metallic white / grey lacquered metal this piece is a wonderful piece of retro musical technology. It has a modern, minimalist style and still functions. This piece will not only be a nice addition to any (modern) decor, it will also add greatly to the (vintage) experience when used for amplifying! Specifics: It powers 2x 30 watts from four PL500 tubes. It has a tapedack with rear control, a line device, microphone and turntable connections. It has different speaker connections (4-8-16?) and additional connections for a Braun LE1 speaker. Channel-seperated tone controls. Power output: 30 watts per channel into 4? stereo. Frequency response: 20Hz to 30kHz. Output: 20mV (line). It remains in good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Dieter Rams (born 20 May 1932 in Wiesbaden, Hessen) is a German industrial designer and retired academic closely associated with the consumer products company Braun and the functionalist school of industrial design. His unobtrusive approach and belief in "less but better" design generated a timeless quality in his products and have influenced the design of many products, which also secured Rams worldwide recognition and appreciation.
