19th Century Pleyel French Upright Piano Hand Painted Decoration and Fluted Legs

About the Item

This rare upright piano was made by Pleyel in France in September 1871 according to the Pleyel Archives found at Musée de la Musique. The natural wood cabinet is beautifully decorated with hand painted floral garlands. The piano sides are square and it has fluted, columnar legs resting on original castors. The instrument has an eighty-five note keyboard and two brass pedals. It is in authentic condition with no restorations made so far. There are few missing front pieces from the keys.
