18th Century Italian Carved Giltwood Polychrome Baby Jesus with Glass Eyes

About the Item

This antique baby Jesus figure was crafted in Italy, circa 1780. The hand-painted putti carving feature its original polychrome finish for a luxurious result. The hand carved cherub with glass eyes, is expressive in it's movement and features a wonderful facial expression, including his curly hair. The religious sculpture is in good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated polychromed finish; it would make a charming addition to a living room or study in your home. Reattached and repaired head and arm. Measure: 20" W x 9"D x 19" H.
