19th Century French Painted Iron and Brass Paris Crest Scale with Set of Weights

About the Item

Decorate your kitchen counter with this elegant, colorful antique scale. Crafted in Versailles, France circa 1880, the scientific instrument is uniquely decorated with a Paris coat of arms in the center, with a sailboat and numerous Fleur-de-Lys throughout the design. The stately, embellished scale is flanked by Roman figures on both sides. The scale has its original pair of brass trays, and a complete set of weights. The Classic decorative kitchen accessory is in excellent working condition and adorns a rich patinated painted finish and well-maintained gilt accents. Both scale and trays are signed "Beauge Balancier Versailles". Measures: 20.5" W x 8" D x 7" H.
