Gaertner Spectroscope, 1930s Scientific Instrument

About the Item

Gaertner spectroscope, 1930s scientific instrument. The spectroscope is an instrument used in chemistry and physics to observe and analyze the electromagnetic radiation emitted by a source. It can have an optical prism, or a diffraction grating. In astronomy the spectrograph is applied to the telescope so that the entrance slit coincides with the focus of the lens. The result is the spectrum of the star whose image is formed in the focus.
