A brass standard imperial yard for the County of Norfolk by W & T Avery of London. Dated 1888. Marked with Crown and Royal Cipher of Queen Victoria, along with portcullis marks and indenture number. W & T Avery Ltd. is a British manufacturer of weighing machines and measures. The company was founded in the early 18th century and took the name W & T Avery in 1818.
