Victorian Brass Clock and Barometer Set with Thermometer

About the Item

Late Victorian brass clock and barometer set with centrally mounted thermometer with enamel register plate. The case stands on a raised plinth with pad feet, four brass pillars support the ‘cushion’ top surmounted by a turned and ringed brass carrying handle. The clock with enamel dial, Roman numerals and French eight day movement with top mounted beveled viewing glass to the silvered escapement. The barometer with enamel register plate with seven weather indications and original ‘blued’ steel pointer. This set includes also includes a finely pivoted compass with silvered scale. The plinth carries an inscription which reads: ‘Presented to the Rev. F.Edwards, B.A., by his ministerial brethren, 3rd November 1882.
