French Prieur Paris Tennis Racket with Original Wooden Press, Circa 1930s–1950s
About the Item
An original French wooden tennis racket by Prieur Paris, accompanied
by its original wooden tennis press. Dating from approximately the
1930s–1950s, this complete set is a wonderful example of early
European sporting equipment.
The racket retains its original frame, period stringing, maker's
markings, and attractive aged patina. Included is the original
adjustable wooden press, a desirable accessory used to preserve the
shape of wooden rackets between matches.
Today, the set functions equally well as a collectible sporting
artifact and as a decorative object for interiors featuring vintage
sporting themes.
