About

Vintage Wicker creel. A very good example of an early wicker pot bellied fishing creel. The creel is made in the traditional design with a hinged lid with leather buckle and a leather shoulder strap. The creel was an important piece of equipment for the early angler as with the addition of damp moss, lining the bottom of the creel, it would keep the days catch fresh. Dimensions: Height 21.5 cm / 8 1/2" Width 30.5 cm / 12 1/4" Depth 20.5 cm / 8 1/4" Period 1900-1949 Year 1930's Medium Wicker Country United Kingdom Condition Good condition.
