Voysey Billiard Snooker POOL Table Oak 1910 in Stock

About the Item

A beautiful full size 12ft x 6ft oak billiard or snooker table circa 1907, designed by C F A Voysey, elegant clean lines with tapering chamfered legs. The table has been sympathetically cleaned and lightly waxed by hand to ensure an original arts and crafts feel. An identical table was designed by Voysey for 'The Homestead' Frinton- On- Sea, see attached PDF image: The table would have been manufactured by one of the premier London billiard table companies of the time. The cushion rubbers have been replace with NR professional rubbers and covered in WSA approved Strachan traditional green cloth, this can be changed in colour if required. As specialist dealers we are able to arrange delivery and installation at an extra cost if required. Charles Francis Annesley Voysey (28 May 1857 – 12 February 1941) was an English architect and furniture and textile designer,Voysey's early work was as a designer of wallpapers, fabrics and furnishings in the Arts and Crafts style and he made important contribution to the Modern Style. Voysey's development as a furniture designer corresponded to his development as an architect, and by c.1895 he had evolved a definitive personal style, the simple elegance of Voysey's furniture from the period 1895–1910 was achieved by relying on the innate beauty of high quality materials, especially unpolished oak, and by eschewing complicated decoration in favour of a careful balance of the vertical and horizontal elements in a design.
