Fine Taxidermy The Spectacled Owl & Snake by Sinke & Van Tongeren
About the Item
The Spectacled owl is the largest owl to be found in the dense tropical rainforests of South America.
It will eat everything that moves and is not too heavy to fly away with. It will eat monkeys even.
We thought it would make an interesting composition to feed him a very large snake that curls around him.
It makes the work attractive from all angles and it also interacts with the twisted marble base he is sitting on.
Note: All animals used for our work came from captivity and died on natural causes. No animals are raised or killed for our work.
The works of Dutch Artists Sinke and van Tongeren are inspired by golden age old master painters like d' Hondecoeter, Weenix, Snyders, Bachelier and others. They are beautiful collections of rare exotic animals in flamboyant striking poses and dramatic compositions. Their sculpting skills enables them to create animals that act almost like in a human manner.
