Pair of Antique 19th C French Dioramas of Taxidermy Birds and Animals

About the Item

A pair of Antique 19th C French Dioramas of taxidermy birds and animals, variously perched on branches and groundwork set within their original ebonised display cabinets. Taxidermy dated before 1947 commercialised in accordance with rule n°338/97 CE dated 09/12/1996. This rare pair of showcases are fitted on 19th C console tables. One is filled with Exotic taxidermy birds; the other is mounted with endemic European taxidermy birds. The taxidermist had an excellent eye for detail and also put in a small pond, a bird nest and several small animals from the woods: snails, birdnest, small snakes, mice, squirrel, beetles, frog and a stoat.
