Antique Sterling Silver Combination Chamberstick and Cigar Cutter

An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver combination chamber candlestick and cigar cutter; an addition to our Victorian silver candlestick/candelabra collection This fine antique Victorian sterling silver chamberstick/candle holder has a trefoil, rounded form. The well is plain and unembellished, encompassed with a plain elevated border. The plain cylindrical column/capital retains the original detachable hallmarked sconce, accented with a plain applied elevated border. The impressive and rare example of Victorian silverware incorporates a cylindrical cigar cutter; this operates with a sprung, push fit catch to the upper portion. The chamberstick is supported by three plain bun style feet. This exceptional candle holder was crafted by John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton of Hukin & Heath, subsequently Hukin & Heath Ltd. Condition This antique chamberstick/candle holder is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside, in addition to part hallmarks to the sleeve of the scone and screw fitments to the underside are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of Victorian silverware.     An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of versatile antique Victorian English sterling silver three-light candelabra; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver candelabra have a classical square form to a knopped column onto a stepped swept square foot, in the classic English 18th century style. Each impressive three light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms embellished with reed decoration. The branches (labra) support two cylindrical capitals, each encompassed with bands of applied gadroon decoration. The capitals are fitted with the original hallmarked push fit square sconces, embellished with further gadroon decorated borders to the rims. Each capital of these Victorian candelabra centrepieces surmounts an impressive square drip pan, featuring identical ornamentation to that of the sconces. Each silver candelabrum is fitted with a third detachable central elevated capital. These versatile Victorian candelabra can be used as candlesticks once the arms are detached, alternatively, the labra may be conjoined to form a five-light candelabrum. The panelled waisted column of each candlestick is encompassed with gadroon decoration to the knops. The plain square swept foot incorporates a plain sunken well, and is embellished with gadroon decoration to a plain collet style rim.
