An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver vesta case modelled in the form of a boar; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver vesta case has been realistically modelled in the form of a boar. This impressive antique vesta case is embellished with embossed and chased details replicating the features of the boar's fur and anatomical features. The underside of this Deakin and Francis vesta case incorporates a serrated panel/match striker. The case is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover/head, opening to reveal the original gilded interior. The boar's nose is accented with a plain ring loop attachment. Such exceptional period examples are rare and becoming increasingly difficult to locate. Condition This antique Deakin & Francis vesta case is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the sleeve of the body are all very clear.
