Unusual, Edwardian Period, sterling silver-mounted threaded crystal match striker, Chester, England, year-hallmarked for 1904, John and William Deakin - makers. The striker measures 3 inches high x 3 1/4 inches diameter (at widest point).The entire match striker is one piece of crystal: the upper, clear portion, which holds the matches, has a lovely sterling silver mount; the lower portion of the crystal, which acts as a pedestal base, is threaded in design and is where t.he matches are struck. Dark areas on striker in photos are reflections. In very good antique condition.
