About

A pair of rock crystal Obelisks from Brazil in the neoclassical Grand Tour style. The Obelisk is supported by four ball feet surmounted on a square plinth with a stepped base. Carved in the late 20th century in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
Since Egyptian times the obelisk has retained its potency as a symbol of power and commemoration and has been embraced by most major civilizations and dynasties, notably Greek and Roman. The tallest stone obelisk in the world is actually located in Washington D.C. and is in honor of the First President of the United States George Washington.
