18th Century Hand-Painted Venetian Style Gold-Leaf Moro Screen with Chinoiserie
About the Item
From our Hand-Painted Furniture Collection, we are pleased to introduce you to our Moro Screen.
Nature has always been a source of inspiration for our hand-decorated furnishings. We aspire to capture its grace and lightness, with our brushes and colors. In this case, we have decided to propose a reinterpretation of a classic motif in naturalistic chinoiserie style, made up of cherry blossom branches, delicately finished with hatching games to create movement and depth. The floral motif develops freely on the three panels and is completed by precious butterflies, as if in flight, which catch the eye with the colored details of the wings.
We intended to celebrate the play of light in a modern key, also with the choice of the gold leaf base, capable of reflecting natural light, creating an atmosphere of quiet elegance. In full 18th century Venetian decorative tradition, the entire creation is finished with aging techniques that give that timeless flavor to the work, almost as if it were a precious jewel of the ancient palaces.
Screens are among the furnishing elements with the most multifaceted character, capable of entering both precious historic homes and more modern properties.
The hinges allow the Screen to move 180°, allowing the user to choose the best angles to reflect the natural light of the home.

Porte Italia Interiors
Porte Italia is very much a family-run company. One that has taken the innovative approach of enlisting an entire village to turn it into the unique and successful enterprise it is today. Today, the colors and rich decorative traditions of Venice still run in our veins. Using Venice-inspired colors, finishes and decorations, we are bringing old-world Italian handcrafted design and quality back to the new world order of modern interiors. You see, every region of Italy has its own traditional cottage industry. And for over 400 years, ours has been painting and decoration for the finest homes, villas and palaces in the world. All by hand. At Porte Italia, there is no factory. And no two pieces are exactly alike. Because every piece is still built, painted and gracefully aged to look as if it was born in 18th Century Venice.
Each Porte Italia creation is a bespoke masterpiece made to the exact custom specifications of designers from London, Paris, Milan, the US, the Middle East & India. And often in concert with other Venetian families whose companies have been in business since Marco Polo was a boy. We aim to re-discover the beauty of Venetian Craftsmanship and the flavour of long past traditions, making them available today for our daily use. Our missions is simply to make Art in the form of Furniture.
