About The Maker

Elyse Graham
View ProfileFounded in 2014 and based in Los Angeles, the Elyse Graham studio is a place where unusual materials and experimental processes are implemented to create a melding of art and object. We design by making--with a sense of curiosity, wonder and joy.
We design and produce every piece by hand in our Los Angeles studio. The work is driven by the processes Graham develops for the very specific materials she uses, most notably plaster and resin. Our one of a kind Drip Vases are created with a process Graham designed to cast plaster inside of a flexible latex balloon mold. The interiors of the vessels are then sealed with layers of poured resin, making them functional pieces. Graham has also created a technique for dying the plaster exterior of the vases. Each piece is hand dip-dyed, layer by layer, and then sealed with a protective coating.
This series of vessels, dyed in muted earth tones, is inspired by glacial erosion, layered metamorphic rock, and the magnificent coastal landscapes of the artist's native California.
Our new Black Magic Collection of resin vessels and furniture is inspired by the concept of revealing that which has been hidden from sight, but remains ever-present.
Work from the Elyse Graham studio has recently been published in T Magazine, Veranda, Harper's Bazaar, House Beautiful, and Interior Design, among others.
