French Art Deco Patinated Pine Folding Screen / Room Divider Attributed to Jomaine Baumann, 1940s A sculptural and beautifully patinated French Art Deco freestanding room divider or folding screen, attributed to Jomaine Baumann and dating to the 1940s. Crafted in richly toned pine with finely ribbed vertical detailing, this highly architectural screen possesses a wonderfully fluid silhouette, with gently undulating tops that create rhythm and movement across the piece. Elegant yet functional, it embodies the timeless sophistication of French Art Deco design while feeling remarkably contemporary in form. Recently cleaned, sensitively restored and re-polished, the screen retains all the warmth, patina and honest character acquired over decades of use, while presenting beautifully for modern interiors. The rich reddish-brown timber tones and softly aged surface lend depth and atmosphere, making it equally suited to minimalist, mid-century, wabi-sabi or more layered interiors. Designed with flexibility in mind, the screen can be folded, coiled, curved or fully extended, allowing it to adapt effortlessly to different spaces and functions.
