Andrianna Shamaris Super Rare Long Ikat From Sumba

About the Item

Incredibly long rare ikat from the island of Sumba. Ikat is an ancient technique which is used to add patterns to textiles. The designs are created in the yarns rather than on the finished cloth, resulting in both sides patterned with bold contrasting colors. Sumbanese textiles are deeply personal; they follow a distinct systematic form but also show the individuality of the weavers and the villages where they are produced. Internationally, Sumbanese textiles are collected as examples of textile designs of the highest quality and are found in major museums around the world, as well as in the homes of collectors. We only source the best. Andrianna Shamaris. The Leader In Modern Organic Design.
