Block Printed Cotton Pillow Cover, Uzbekistan, 1930s
About the Item
Block printing in uzbekistan called ‘ chitgarlik’ and the block printer called a ‘chitgar’.
Uzbek block prints unlike the most prints from Persia, and india are done on a coarse hand woven cotton fabrics and they were used as quilt tops and Wall hangings and in the 19th C. Some were fort he linings of their chapans and kaftans.
It does not come with an insert.
Linen in the back.
Zipper closure.
Dry Cleaning is reccomended.
