Vintage Nicole Miller silk fabric sports pillow with Irish linen cushion This cushion is a one-of-a-kind and part of a sustainability project. It has been created from a repurposed, up-cycled, recycled fabric, used with the intentions on promoting a more eco-friendly environment. We both celebrate and cherish the past and take care with rare and precious vintage and antique materials presented in a ‘cushion frame’. Custom made one-of-a-kind luxury cushion created from an exquisite and rare vintage 1993 designer silk ‘Nicole Miller’ fashion scarf in a multicolored novelty pattern. Featuring an eclectic range of sporting equipment from retro to antique including tennis, scalding, baseball, basketball, skating, weightlifting, fencing and golf in alternating bands and in a variety of bright bold colours against a rich ground of purple, beige and black stripes. American fashion designer Nicole Miller studied at l' École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne in Paris and is known for her striking colour palette and busy repeated patterns often incorporating consumer products illustrating perfume bottles, cars, sporting events, drinks and hotel-chain logos. All the great supermodels from Naomi Campbell to Kate Moss have graced the catwalk in her work. On a quality silk with a soft sumptuous feel to the touch which was once delicately hand rolled and hemmed before being carefully unraveled to create our cushion. Note the subtle foulard style leafy design woven repeatedly within the fabric adding texture, especially notable when caught by the light. Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. The traditional oatmeal color linen is a combination of the unbleached raw colour of the natural flax plant on the weft intertwined with pristine white on the warp, resulting in a beautiful mottled effect. This fun, quirky, eccentric, energetic, busy and charming piece would make the ultimate accessory for a child’s nursery or gift for the sports enthusiast. We have two available, would be fantastic as a set. Contemporary cushion (pillow) constructed with antique elements by using fragments of precious fabric. Handcrafted in Ireland Color (colour): Purple, lilac, brown, yellow ochre, sage leafy and emerald green, soft black, maroon, burgundy, red, ox blood, blue, turquoise, beige, cream, ivory, off white, lemon, duck egg and sapphire blue, grey and orange.
