Vintage Rare Pucci Geometric Scarf and Irish Linen Cushion Pillow Pink Blue Yellow Custom made one-of-kind luxury cushion (pillow) created from a rare example of a vintage Pucci fashion scarf in a striking geometric pattern. With dramatic modernist shapes and a beautiful color palette of soft pastels juxtaposed with bold black and framed like a work of art in a matching border. The pattern is attributed to Christian Lacroix who served at the Italian fashion house from 2002–2005. It’s a very unique example of Pucci and looks quite different from the majority of their prints which usually depict a more complex, busier swirling pattern synonymous of Pucci. Luxuriously soft to the touch and with the original Pucci label attached onto the linen back. Bought at an Italian antiques market on the ‘Naviglio Grande’ in Milan and in perfect condition. Born in 1914 to one of Florence’s most illustrious families, the Marquis Emilio Pucci di Barsento's success rose after designing sleek ski suits for his friends. His psychedelic prints in vibrant exotic colours, emblematic of the 1960s, are inspired by underwater photography, another one of his hobbies. Pucci’s iconic designs feature sensual, free-flowing lines that follow the natural curves of the body. Whilst other fashion designers produce scarves to complement their collection, Pucci’s scarves are considered of equal importance to the clothes. The Pucci brand became so successful that he had to incorporate his signature into the pattern to avoid imitation. Note the repetitive ‘Emilio’ signature appearing throughout the fabric in our cushion running along the curved lines of the design. Would go fabulously with Mid-Century Modern furniture. Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. The traditional oatmeal color linen is a combination of the unbleached raw colour of the natural flax plant on the weft intertwined with pristine white on the warp, resulting in a beautiful mottled effect. A contemporary cushion (pillow) constructed with antique elements by using fragments of precious fabric. Handmade in Ireland by designer-maker Katie Larmour perfect condition. Color: Pale pink, baby pink, powder blue, yellow, yellow ochre, grey (gray), ivory white and soft black. Tags: Italian designers.
